Several palm trees stand silhouetted as the sun sets over San Carlos Bay near the causeway to Sanibel Island, Florida. The causeway connects Sanibel to the west Florida mainland near Fort Myers. This image was taken on a November evening with a soft breeze coming off the Gulf of Mexico. The forms of the clouds and the colors in the sky as the sun sank over the horizen were lovely.
I grew up exploring the natural world along the Ohio River and in the woods on my father's farm in Southern Indiana. While studying environmental planning in the Architecture School at the University of Virginia, I added an interest in architecture to my love of natural landscapes. My work often is an exploration of how these two subjects interact together in natural light. Most of my images are from near my current home of Alexandria, Virginia, my former home of southern Indiana, and travels to various places in the U.S. with occasional foreign travel. My images have appeared in periodicals, annual reports, brochures, calendars, travel guides, hotels, model homes, and in local shows and shops. Thank you for visiting my site and hope...
